Reverend Dr. Charles L. Amos

Victory through adversity would be the theme for Bishop. Charles L Amos.  Bishop. Amos was born to the Late Wayne M. Amos and Alfea L Amos in Baltimore MD  His family was relocated to Aberdeen, MD in 1983.  He is a graduate of Aberdeen High School class of 1990.  He has attended Boulden Seminary, Eastern Christian College in Bel Air Md., Maryland Bible College and Seminary in Baltimore MD  He has received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. and an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Boulden Seminary.  Bishop Amos then received his Masters Degree from Wilmington University in Organizational Leadership.

Bishop Charles L. Amos married his beautiful wife, Sonja Amos, on October 24, 1998. Together, they are the proud parents of two lovely daughters, Déjà and Dineen. Bishop and Evangelist Amos have also embraced the sacred responsibility of raising his cousin, Ra’leik, as their own son. Bishop Amos takes great pride in being a devoted family man and strives to model for other Christian men that it is possible to thrive in one’s walk with God, pursue professional excellence, and still be victorious at home.

Bishop Amos answered the call to Christian ministry in 1993 after a prolonged season of prayer and questioning God. He preached his initial sermon on July 17, 1994, at Mt. Calvary UAME Church in Aberdeen, Maryland. In May 1996, he was ordained as an itinerant deacon in the Union American Methodist Episcopal Church.

In May 1997, Bishop George W. Poindexter appointed him to serve as Pastor of Graves Chapel UAME Church, where he labored faithfully and experienced notable success in ministry. In May 2003, Bishop Linwood Rideout III assigned him to St. Paul UAME Church in Wilmington, Delaware, where Bishop Amos has been used mightily by the Lord and continues to serve with vision, compassion, and spiritual leadership.

Bishop Amos has pursued extensive theological and academic training. He has attended Harford Community College, Eastern Christian College, Maryland Bible College and Seminary, Boulden Seminary, and the Biblical Institute. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Wilmington University. He has also received an Honorary Doctorate in Theology from Boulden Seminary.

Most recently, Bishop Amos authored his first book, The Bat Boy, a powerful memoir chronicling his early years and the formative experiences that shaped his life, faith, and ministry.
